How to Identify and Find your Dream Customers

In business, it’s important to understand who your ideal customers are, and then go after them. With the right approach, you can reach your target audience and grow your business.

You know you have the right idea when your product meets a need that people are willing to pay for. You’ll know you’ve found your target market when the value of the product or service you offer is greater than the cost of selling it.

First, what do you think your ideal customer looks like?
Maybe they’re young, male and rich. Or maybe they’re old, female and poor.
You probably have some idea of who your ideal customer is. But let’s face it – this may not be who your customers really are.
As I mentioned, your customers aren’t always who you think they are. And they’re often not in one specific demographic.

Steps to Finding High Paying Customers

Here are the five steps to finding your dream customer:

1.  Figure out what you want to sell.
In business, the most important thing to understand is what you want to sell.
This helps you focus on a product or service that people are willing to buy. In other words, you’ll know if you have a product or service people want.
You’ll know you have a market when you can identify and quantify that market. That’s when you’ll know how much money your product or service can make and who’s likely to spend it.

2.  Create a customer profile (Customer Avatar)
Your customer profile will help you understand who your ideal customer is. You’ll also know if you’re going after the right target audience.
With this information, you can refine your idea of who your ideal customer is.
Here are some questions to ask yourself about your customer profile:
–  Who are they?
–  What do they need?
–  Where are they?
–  What will they use your product for?

3. Identify and qualify your customers.
When you know what you want to sell and who your ideal customer is, you’ll be better prepared to find them.
The next step is to identify and qualify your customer. This includes understanding what people like about your product or service and why they would buy from you.
Here are some questions to help you find out more about your customers:
–  What problems are they having?
–  How much money do they have?
–  What are their needs?
–  How often do they shop?

4. Create a marketing plan.
Once you have an idea of who your ideal customer is and understand what people like about your product or service, it’s time to create a marketing plan.
With this information, you can design a plan for how you’re going to find and communicate with your ideal customer.
Here are some questions to ask yourself about your marketing plan:
–  Who are you selling to?
–  What is the purpose of your campaign?
–  Who are your target customers?
–  What will you do if people don’t respond to your marketing?
–  When will you launch your campaign?

5: Find and communicate with your customers.
After you understand who your customers are, why they like your product or service and what you’ll be doing to attract them, it’s time to find and communicate with them.
In business, communication is everything. That’s why it’s important to get this part right.
Here are some questions to ask yourself about your communication plan:
–  How are you going to find your ideal customer?
–  How are you going to communicate with your ideal customer?
–  What will you do if they don’t buy from you?

Conclusion
